Where to Stop for Food: Weaver D's and Peaches. Fried Chicken and all the fixin's.
Where to Watch the Game if You Don't Have a Ticket: Any tailgate equipped with a T.V. and cocktails, which is pretty much any alumni tailgate. Also, any of the bars downtown...see below.
Where to Party After A Win: There are 75 bars with a square mile in downtown Athens, I'm sure you can find something.
There is nothing, I repeat nothing, better than waking up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday in the fall, dressing head to toe in your best red and black, pulling up to your tailgate, gobbling down a homemade chicken biscuit and pouring your first Bloody Mary. There is also no better feeling in the world than knowing for the rest of the day all you have to do is talk Georgia Football, recount college memories, tailgate hop and cheer on your favorite team. And all of the beautiful scenes of fall in the South there is perhaps nothing more beautiful than walking into Sanford Stadium on a crisp fall afternoon surrounded by 92,000 of your closest friends for another great match-up between the hedges.
Glory Glory, y'all!
Thank you to my friend, Alexis, who attended Georgia for all the insider information. She and I are in law school together.

I was fortunate enough to attend a game at Sanford Stadium when I was in college. Athens, undoubtably, is one of the best college towns in country. It is a beautiful town tucked away in the middle of Georgia. I ran into the typical obnoxious UGA fans, but overall my trip was very pleasant and made some great friends. A game Between the Hedges is a unique experience and will be loud. I wish I was traveling there this weekend for the Gamecocks tilt against the Dawgs.
May the best team take the East!
xoxo,
Ashton
