Gameday Picture Link-up Week 13

We cannot believe this past weekend marked the end of the regular season in college football.  Seems like the beginning of September was just yesterday and we were all getting so excited for the season to begin.  Thankfully, both of our teams (NCSU and USC) got wins this weekend and will also be going to bowl games, which makes it a little easier to pack away the tailgating gear and Gameday dresses until next year.

Today is also our last Gameday Picture Link-Up of the year.  Thanks to everyone who has linked up this year, we've really enjoyed seeing your pictures!

Product Review - YT Clothing

I posted this on my personal blog, but wanted to share my YT Clothing dress experience here as well!

A few weeks ago, I was introduced to a new company via Twitter called YT Clothing.  I saw something about Gameday dresses, which you know caught my eye, and immediately went to their website.  Well I loved what I found.  Classic, Gameday dresses in tailgating-approved colors.  I then tweeted YT Clothing and told them I loved their dresses and they offered to send me one to review!! I was PUMPED. Below are their three dress styles.

The Katie Dress
The Lindsay Dress
The Sarah Dress

It was hard for me to choose, but I went with the Lindsay Dress.  I figured I would wear this a lot of places.  Football games, church, work, and even out!

Below are three pictures of me wearing the Lindsay dress.  I took a few different ones to show how versatile the dress is.  The dress was packaged so nicely, with 2 koozies and one of their 3 Cords headbands. I meant to take a picture of it all together, but I was so excited about the dress, I forgot to.

So... you ready for my honest opinion of this dress and YT Clothing. I. LOVE. IT. For one, this dress is one of the most comfortable dresses I have ever worn.  The material is super soft and this dress is a classic.  I wore it shopping a few weeks ago and a woman stopped me in Banana Republic and told me she loved my dress. I also got several compliments on it at the football game.  I would love to have it in another color!

and two, Katie, one of the owners of YT Clothing and their business practices are AWESOME.  I can tell that Katie and all of YT Clothing has a passion for Gameday fashion and football and I am really inspired by how they started and run their company.  The 3 Cords headbands they sell are made by amputee women and mothers of amputee children in Haiti.  I have mine hanging in my room where I can always see it, to remind me to not sweat the little things...

Be sure to enter our YT Giveaway!

and thanks again for the dress Katie, I love it and will represent YT Clothing well!

SEC Weekly Feature - Nashville, TN - Go Dores!

Town: Nashville, TN

Head coach: James Franklin

Stadium: Vanderbilt Stadium, Dudley Field

Colors: Black & Gold

Mascot: Commodore, Mr. C

Traditions: Star Walk: The Star Walk tradition began in the 1990s after athletic department officials had stars, representing the athletic logo, painted on the sidewalk and Jess Neely Drive from the football team's locker room facility in McGugin Center down the tunnel leading into Vanderbilt Stadium. The team's walk to its stadium locker facility was quickly dubbed Star Walk in reference to the star logos painted along the route. Over the years, it has grown in interest through participation by the marching band and better communication with the fans. The best attended Star Walks have flooded Jess Neely Drive with Commodore faithful hoping to see and encourage their favorite player or coach.
Other VU traditions include, the Admiral's horn which can be heard after every Vanderbilt touchdown and the traveling anchor. Seen as a symbol of support, security and stability, the anchor is present at all home and road games. Just recently, the locker room added a special display case for the anchor to occupy year round.

Biggest Rival: Vanderbilt fans hate Big Orange...TENNESSEE. While all Vandy team sports detest competition with the Vols, none moreso than football. Tennessee has taken home the W against Vandy 27 out of the last 28 meetings.

Where to Tailgate: Vandyville - the entire " L" shaped block surrounding the stadium. Fans can find everything from a Kids Zone, to live music and large screen T.Vs to the Coca-Cola sponsored picnic zone.

Where to Celebrate: Tin Roof on Demonbruen  or any of Nashville's honkey-tonks (usually Paradise Park, The Stage or The Big Bang)

Where to Watch if You Don't Have a Ticket: Sam's Place Bar & Grill -Just around the corner from theVandy campus and Vanderbilt Stadium, Sam's offers plenty of t.v's, great 2-4-1 deals and the convenience of being steps away from Nashville's trendy Hillsboro village.

Will Vandy be able to fight back against Tennessee's long tradition of winning or will Coach Dooley's club bring home the W? Be sure to tune in Saturday and see!

"Who ya with? VU!"
"Anchor Down!"

LSU - The Battle for the Golden Boot

Every Razorback gameday is filled with excitement!  As the main college football team in the state, everyone is a Razorback fan.  Games are filled with students and alumni so tickets generally sellout in advance.  If you don't have a chance to buy a ticket go to Dickson Street to watch the game at one of the several bars.  If you want to skip the traffic head uptown to one of the several local sports bars to watch the game.

Big thanks to Blue Eyed Belle and fellow Chi Omega for the info on the Hogs!

Where to Tailgate:  The Grove

Where to Watch the Game if You Don't Have a Ticket: In The Grove.  There are plenty of tents that have TVs and are always willing to make new friends.  Also any of the bars on the Square

Where to Party after a Win:  Okay in our case of late it is for a loss.  Any of the bars on the Square are perfect for a night out.  Don't forget to stop by Chevron on Four Corners for Chicken on the Stick after the bars closed, it was featured in Bon Appetit this fall as one of the  most unexpected places for good food.

The only thing that could make a Saturday better is knowing when you wake up it means heading to Oxford for a day in The Grove and seeing the Rebels play.  If it is a late game getting up early to spend some girl time shopping all the cute shops around the square.   The Grove is a festive atmosphere full of friends and the echos of Hotty Toddy and Dixie.

Big thanks to Ruth for the information on the Rebs.  Hotty Toddy!

Ashton

Football and Fashion - YT Clothings (Kids)

Recently I found a really great company that makes great Gameday dresses, YT Clothing.  Their classic and gameday-colored dresses were the first thing that caught my eye, but as I got a closer look, I saw that they also make super cute t-shirts and sweatshirts for kids.  They are perfect for your little ones on Gamedays!
