The Belles of Saturday are devoted to the traditions of Saturdays (and occasional Thursdays) in the South. We discuss everything from gameday fashion to offensive pass interference to tailgating must-haves. Focusing on the teams and towns of the Southeastern Conference and the Atlantic Coast Conference, we will cover everything that makes Saturdays in the South so special and exciting
It's time to talk fashion for the Beaus. This season, Brooks Brothers came out with a collegiate collection containing polos, dress shirts, sweaters, and ties. The ACC/SEC schools in the collection are: Alabama, Auburn, Boston College, Vanderbilt, and the University of Virginia.
Traditions: WAR EAGLE!, Tiger Walk, Rolling Toomer's Corner after a victory, Staking out your tailgate spot on Friday afternoon, Eagle flight prior to kickoff, Orange & Navy shakers
Where to Stop For Food: Mama's G's for sandwiches, Big Blue Bagel, Toomer's Corner for a famous lemonade, and no tailgate is complete without a "gut box" from Guthrie's.
Where to Celebrate a Victory: After rolling Toomer's Corner head to Sky Bar or The Vault to party like you are still in college.
Auburn is the loveliest village on the Plains. The motto of "All In" has been embraced by the entire Auburn Family. The greeting of "War Eagle" makes you an instant friend. Being surround by 87,000 of your closest friends on a bright, fall afternoon on the Plains makes for the perfect day. Auburn is the true pride of Alabama.
Big thanks to my best friend, Katy, who graduated from Auburn in 2009.
